Unique Tasmanian timber serving platters made from salvaged timber that would otherwise have been buried, burnt or forgotten. No two come out the same, it all depends on the timber I find.
I give them some love, a bit of a sand & oil, attach some 4mm thick leather as handles and you’ve got a unique board.
These have the essence of ‘wabi sabi’…perfection in imperfection. I like all of my boards to keep some of their rustic feel to remind the handler that they are a natural product from a living source. This might be in the form of keeping a bark edge or not finally sanding & finishing an edge.
They’re earthy …. primal …. rustic …. solid …. unique.
